The 10 Best Apps for Shopping

Whether you’re a shop-till-you-drop consumer or someone who just wants to find a great bargain, apps will help make the shopping experience better. Millions go online for purchases in the digital age, and the utilization of apps is another time-saving weapon when you’re in the shopping mood.

Utilizing the latest technology, shopping apps help you de-stress by assisting you with price comparisons, coupons, maps and locations of malls and stores, and the ability to alert your friends and families to great deals.

Here are Honda of El Cerrito’s suggestions for 10 of the best shopping apps guaranteed to save you time and money:

ShopSavvy

Any good shopper knows the key to saving is price comparison. The ShopSavvy App compares the price of the item you’re considering to that of 20,000 other retailers. You simply scan the item’s bar code and compare results. (free)

Fastmall

Malls tend to be big with often-confusing layouts that can make finding specific stores difficult. This app has maps of most malls in the nation, as well as information on parking. (free)

Foursquare

Thinks of an electronic town square where everyone is talking about the latest deals, discounts, and free items. Users of this app check in online when they visit a store and then share tips about the venue with friends and acquaintances. It’s a great way to find out about local deals from friends. (free)

Coupon Sherpa

The ultimate time-saving app, Coupon Sherpa sifts through coupons on the Internet for you. Among the appealing features are the ability to create a list of favorite stores, coupons that the cashier can scan, and the ability to email coupons to friends and family. (free)

Amazon Mobile

As with the website, the app essentially gives you access to seemingly anything you want to buy, plus the Amazon Mobile App allows you to price compare, read reviews, and purchase items instantly. (free)

GoodGuide

For “green shoppers," this app is a must. It helps you find great deals on environmentally friendly, sustainable, safe, and healthy products. (free)

Buy.com

With product reviews, new deals every day, and millions of products to select from, this mobile shopping app is essentially an electronic mall. (free)

Google Shopper

If you’re an over-the-top deal seeker, this app allows you to search for online sales by scanning the barcode, shooting an image of the items you’re considering, or typing or speaking the name of the product in question. (free)

Gasbuddy

One of the best ways to waste the time and effort you put into savings and deals is by driving around town on overpriced gas. This app helps you find the best local gas prices in the areas you want to shop. (free)

IGaragesale

Pulling garage sale details from Craigslist descriptions, this app is the ultimate for garage sale junkies looking for great deals on everything from clothing and sporting goods to tools and home goods. ($1.99)

The Honda Mile Makers Club

At Honda of El Cerrito, we’ve come to understand that if you ask a random stranger the first word that comes to mind when you say “Honda,” more than likely the word you would hear is “reliability.” The 15-year-old Civic you see commuting to work every day is just one example of the durability and superb craftsmanship that Honda engineers put into each vehicle. Hondas are built so that you, the driver, can rest assured that your Honda will take you anywhere you want to go, every time.

To commemorate the durability and pride that Honda owners share, Honda has introduced the Honda Mile Makers Club, which is open to any owner with over 100,000 miles on their Honda’s odometer. There are five categories based on mileage, ranging from the bronze level at 100,000 miles, to the almighty diamond level. The diamond level, anything over 1,000,000 miles, has yet to be claimed, but many owners are closing in with over 700,000, 800,000, and even 900,000 miles on their Hondas.

By creating the Mile Makers Club, Honda has created a social club in which owners can share the friendship brought to them by being part of the Honda family, while also showing the friendship owners have with their cars, as well as the dedication it takes to get that far. With over 800 members and counting, now just might be the perfect time to join the Honda family. Maybe you can even shoot for the diamond level! Go to the Honda Mile Makers website to sign up or stop by Honda of El Cerrito to learn more.
