2012 Honda Civic Named Top Safety Pick by the IIHS
Honda of El Cerrito is proud to announce that the 2012 Honda Civic received the highest possible safety rating as a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The 2012 Civic won this award even under the added pressure of more-stringent testing guidelines implemented by the Institute. This new guidelines include a roof strength test, an Electronic Stability Control requirement, and a higher standard for rear-impact protection. During the testing, the 2012 Civic received the highest possible rating of “Good” on all 4 of the evaluations.
The Civic’s new safety features include the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure (ACE), Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control, ABS, side curtain airbags, and multiple threshold front airbags with an occupant position detection system. The ACE structure helps reduce the impact forces that are transferred to the passenger compartment.
In addition to these added safety features, the 2012 Civic introduces a sleeker style and higher fuel-efficiency than the previous generation. Come in to Honda of El Cerrito today to drive the all-new and extremely safe 2012 Honda Civic!
